The U12 EGUFC Gold team took to the field to play Traralgon Olympians, knowing Olympians had been unbeaten all season, including a narrow 1-0 win over them, in their only previous match.
In the perfect, but very warm conditions, the Eagles showed Olympians they meant business from the start. Controlling the play through the midfield, and causing the opposition untold problems down both wings, it was one-way traffic for much of the first 20 mins of the game. As the pressure mounted through relentless attack the Olympians struggled to get any kind of meaningful possession, and the Eagles team grew in confidence with their passing and movement. Something had to give and after a skillfull display of dribbling on the right wing, Matthew Lal cut the ball back to Andrew Chapman at the top of the Olympians 18 yard box, who struck a first time dipping, curling shot beyond the Olympians keeper into the bottom left-hand corner.
