EGUFC's Blue Eagles have gone down in a close and hard fought Grand Final to their main rivals Traralgon Olympians. It took an extra time goal to decide the result.

It was a disappointing result for the large group of local supporters that had made the trip to Morwell, but no one could go home unhappy on how the team played. They had played with tremendous courage and gave their absolute all right to the final whistle. They had most of the play overall and certainly made more shots on goal over the course of the game.
The game had started with both sides playing tentatively and the ball moving back and forth without any serious threats to either goal. The Eagles were playing with intent and despite the warm conditions their work rate be
