The GOLD Eagles were looking to improve on their last performance against Sale in round seven, when they conceded a late goal for a one all draw.
The first few minutes of the first half saw GOLD presented with two goal scoring opportunities that were easily defended away by Sale. At the eleven and a half minute mark Mathew Lal had an attempt at goal but his kick was wide, narrowly missing. Two minutes later GOLD were again presented with a goal scoring opportunity courtesy of Harry Lancaster, however this attempt was also repelled by the Sale defenders. Just inside the twenty six minute mark the young Eagles finally broke through for the first goal of the match. Andrew Chapman passed to Harry Lancaster in the centre-forward position who then scored high into the net.
